The ILO issues its follow-up views on the JAL dispute
December 14, 2015
On 11 November 2015, the Governing Body of the ILO issued its 376th Report of Committee on Freedom of Association. The report includes its 2nd follow-up (virtually, 3rd recommendation) on the Japan Airlines (JAL) dispute regarding the dismissals of 165 pilots and cabin crew members by JAL. The Committee elaborates the background of the dispute as well as the latest developments and the union’s inputs, and requests the Government of Japan to provide its comment.
The ITF affiliated Kohkuren believes that the follow-up provides a strong support to urge the company to enter into a full and frank negotiation with the unions to ensure an earlier settlement of the dispute.
