New Delhi: Ever since the FDI fever took over in India, the news largely has been dominated by the latest economic development primarily. Now, after the retail section garnered attention for reforms, the aviation industry is set to recieve a first dose to refreshment, with Maylaysian low cost airliner Air Asia looking for an Indian partner. Though there are no concrete announcements from the low cost Asian airliner, but the hunt for the Indian partner is indeed underway, and plans forward will be revealed soon by Tony Fernandes, the chairman of Air Asia.


Arik suspends domestic flights over unions’ protest (The Guardian/Nigeria)

ALL domestic flights of Arik Air from the Murtala Muhammed Airport were suspended yesterday due to a protest by aviation unions.

The unions which protested the alarming debts owed by the airline to various agencies in the aviation industry, included the Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN) and the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE).
