The members of the Executive Board of IKAGI (the Cabin Crew Union of Garuda Indonesia) met with Gabriel Mocho Rodriguez in Jakarta to plan the strategy towards the recognition of the CBA for the Cabin Crew of Garuda and how the unions in the ITF could support them.
The International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) today responded to Australian airline Qantas’ reported training of managers in the USA for possible use as strikebreakers in the event of possible industrial action by baggage handlers and ground staff. According to Australian press reports the training has been taking place in secret.
The ITF has criticised the use of force against a unionist in Turkey while he was carrying out his union duties and expressed concern over the dismissal of four others.
