IKAGI holds planning meeting with the CA section

April 6, 2011

The members of the Executive Board of IKAGI (the Cabin Crew Union of Garuda Indonesia) met with Gabriel Mocho Rodriguez in Jakarta to plan the strategy towards the recognition of the CBA for the Cabin Crew of Garuda and how the unions in the ITF could support them.

IKAGI is working in coordination with the Ground Staff and Pilots’ unions in order to have a unified position to achieve their CBA. As there is no other CBA for the cabin crew in Indonesia, the efforts to achieve the first one is just a small step in the defense of these workers’ rights. It will become the role model for other fellow Indonesian Cabin Crew to have better working conditions.

As a consequence, the discussion focused on the strategy towards supporting the unorganized workers in other airlines to have a proper union representation. Malik  Zainudin, Chairman of IKAGI (talking in the images below) considered the meeting as a very successful one.
