MAS Employees’ Union (Maseu) said it would extend full support to the current management of Malaysian Airline System Bhd (MAS), following the cancellation of the share-swap deal between the national carrier and AirAsia Bhd yesterday.

“All the staff (of MAS) are happy this happened, thanks to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak. It was one of the recommendations that we put to the prime minister, that is, to cancel the share swap. Now MAS staff will work hard,” Maseu president Alias Aziz told SunBiz yesterday.

“We will support the current management,” he added.

The collaboration between MAS, AirAsia Bhd and AirAsia X Sdn Bhd remains intact as part of a broader turnaround plan for MAS.
