International Cabin Crew Day – FAAA supports marriage equality (FAAA)

May 29, 2015

May 31 is International Cabin Crew Day! It’s a day where cabin crew celebrate their profession as in-flight safety professionals, and where they recognise themselves as one global community.

The day is celebrated by thousands of cabin crew members, mostly in the Americas and in some parts of Europe where marriage equality is already a part of their day-to-day life.

In Australia, the Flight Attendants’ Association would like to take this opportunity of recognising the equal dignity of all of our members by joining the campaign to achieve marriage equality in Australia. Everyone deserves the right!

Our Flight Attendant colleagues in 22 other nations including the Netherlands, Belgium, Canada, Spain, South Africa, Norway, Sweden, Portugal, Iceland, Uruguay, New Zealand, France, Brazil, England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Luxembourg and 36 states of America, have the right to marry their partner of choice.

Help make Australia next!

The FAAA has signed a letter of support for reform with Australian Marriage Equality and, coincidentally, this weekend marks the commencement of their campaign “Free Vote” – perfect timing to celebrate International Cabin Crew Day! All of us have a role to play in this campaign and the FAAA is looking forward to playing a part.

You can too. Go to www.freevote.org.au in support of marriage equality for all our members!

So, Happy International Cabin Crew Day! Let’s work with Australian Marriage Equality to make this happen!
