These reports will focus on the effect the virus is having on the aviation industry, and specifically on aviation workers. European Union



Air France will reduce its network by up to 90% in the coming days including temporarily ground its A380 fleet.



  • Lufthansa is discontinuing its long-haul operations in Munich, long-haul operations will now only operate from Frankfurt.
  • Lufthansa Cityline will operate services only from Munich.
  • In total Lufthansa Group will ground 700 of its 763 aircraft.
  • Lufthansa Cargo is operating its regular services with the exception of flights to China.


Hong Kong

Cathay Pacific will cut 90% of its network capacity in April.






New Zealand





  • On 18 March 2020, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan announced that value-added tax for domestic aviation was cut to 1% from 18%.


United Arab Emirates


United Kingdom





Vietnam Airlines is grounding all international flights for at least a month from 25 March.
