Abbassi calls on Arab airlines to respect trade union work (tdailynews.net)

Secretary General of the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT), Houcine Abbassi has called on Arab airlines to respect trade union work and give their employees all their rights.

Speaking Monday in Sousse at the opening of an international conference on “The organisation of trade union work in airports”, held by International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) and the General Federation of Transport, Abbassi said Tunisian carrier “Tunisair” could “be a model for some Arab companies on compliance with labour laws and social and trade union rights of workers.”

Moncef Ben Romdhane, Secretary General of the General Federation of Transport (under UGTT), for his part, told TAP the conference mainly aims to train young executives in union negotiation techniques and to introduce them to union work in airports.
