Protest over dismissals at Turkish airport operator A thousand-strong protest took place in Turkey last week to demand the reinstatement of 351 airport workers who were dismissed, reportedly to hamper the organising efforts of a Turkish affiliate.

Turkish aviation workers protest against dismissals The ITF is calling for solidarity with 160 workers dismissed from the company that manages Istanbul’s international airport. The Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport Investment Development and Operation Inc. (ISG) dismissed the workers without following all the procedures required by Turkish law.
ITF calls for solidarity with JAL cabin crew The ITF is raising support for its affiliate the Japanese Airlines Cabin Crew Union (CCU), which is planning to call a strike over the 24th and 25th December in response to the company’s plan to dismiss cabin crew.
Union action leads to presidential intervention in Philippine Airline dispute The office of President Aquino has issued an order taking over the jurisdiction of a petition by the ITF-affiliated union the Philippine Airline Employees’ Association (PALEA) against mass dismissals at Philippine Airlines (PAL).
